About

Ruta Matuleviciute is a Lithuanian painter and interdisciplinary artist whose work is characterized by a unique blend of surreal and magical realism with a utopian fairy tale concept. Drawing inspiration from Baltic, Ancient Lithuanian, and world lore, referring to comparative cultural studies, Matuleviciute creates transformative works, guiding the viewer to cross the boundaries of everyday reality and step into wonder.

The artist is not separate from their art. Ruta Matuleviciute’s method is consciousness-based creation. One of the main aspects of her artistic practice is a consistent daily practice of self-development. She practices a brain-developing technique known as Transcendental Meditation and TM-Sidhi program and maintains a healthy, sober lifestyle that allows her to tap into deep sources of inspiration and creativity.

Matuleviciute’s work has been featured in galleries and exhibitions throughout Lithuania and beyond, she is a member of Lithuanian Artists’ Association since 2019.
